About Julie
Julie Kouzel MS, CCC-SLP
Julie has been a therapist for 30+ years, starting out in a school for kids with multiple disabilities in NJ (where she grew up) before moving to NC. She worked in an early intervention program in Raleigh, serving kids and their families in their homes and learning about all areas of development from an amazing team. She met her husband there too. They have one beautiful son and have lived in Mooresville since 2008. Julie loves yoga, Pilates, walking in the woods, and reading her book in a comfy chair. She is a great cook as long as she doesn’t have to cook every night!
She has a commitment to lifelong learning and has attended hundreds of hours of professional trainings and conferences about speech and feeding issues, but also about social/emotional development and how adults learn. This has had a profound impact on how she coaches families and interacts with kids.
Julie’s philosophy has always been there is no one way to treat a child, and each class she takes is another tool in her therapeutic toolbox. These are a sample of courses/conferences:
